“Companies that have massive amounts of data without massive amounts of clue are going to be displaced by startups that have less data but more clue”, says Dion Hinchcliffe, in his article “…..   Closing the Clue Gap”, at the link below. The article has some cool illustrative images and what I term as “adoption framework” for the Big Data.

Both Dan and Tim O’Reilly loudly emphasize the need for that uncommon ability to ask the right questions. Tims Says, “Even if you have petabyes of data, you still need to know how to ask the right questions to apply it” in his blog http://radar.oreilly.com/2011/08/theres-no-such-thing-as-big-da.html

Information Excellence is about being able to shrink the Petabytes to those few specific probing questions first, and translating the underlying reasons and insights into winning market actions. If you have done any of such Peta-Byte to Penta-Action translation, we would love to hear your story.
