The technology, with cloud, mobility and big data has leaped by many folds. Predictive Modeling is omnipresent. everybody is doing big data and analytics.

So, the good business decisions should be plenty, and the business heads should be having a relaxed time – what with multiple models throwing business options left, right and center.

Right? Not exactly, says this Computer world report!  The business, for one, does not run on model outputs, but on business decisions. And the clarity of “what needs to be decided” or optimized calls for a good understanding of the business process flow and priorities – what the celebrated management consultant Ram Charan calls as “Business Acumen”.

In the emerging Data inundated, information drought world, the game changing Data Insights will only come from combining the Analytics Insights with the Business Acumen. That will boil down to helping the business narrow down on one business priority that the business will agree to, and the Data scientist can help address.
